After experiencing the W Bangkok in 2016, I find myself back within its walls. Little did I know that my initial choice during that visit would cultivate a lasting affection for this hotel, leaving an indelible mark on my travel memories. From the moment I first caught sight of the W’s sign, I was captivated by its effortlessly cool vibes. The appeal of the cosiest beds, a spacious pool, and an array of amenities—reflecting the luxury accommodation and stylish design—made me fall head over heels for this place. Now, as I return, it’s not merely a trip down memory lane; it’s an opportunity to rediscover the unique charm that beckoned me back to W Bangkok. The friendly staff, delicious breakfast, and trendy restaurants further enhance the overall experience, turning each visit into a truly unforgettable stay.
Location:
The W Bangkok is right in the middle of the lively Pathum Wan neighbourhood in Bangkok. It’s close to famous places, great shopping spots, and lots of places to eat. Plus, it’s super easy to get around from the hotel since it’s just a short walk from the BTS Skytrain.
First Impression:
Walking into W Bangkok for the first time was like stepping into a stylish oasis. Right outside, there’s this beautiful fountain that sets a calm and welcoming mood. The guys at the entrance were super friendly, taking care of my bags with big smiles. At check-in, they handed me a welcome drink, which was a cool surprise. And let me tell you about the lobby – it’s not your usual hotel lobby; it’s got this really cool and modern look that just fits the whole vibe of the W Bangkok.
Room
Our room on the 19th floor treated us to the most incredible views of the Bangkok skyline. The windows were huge, spanning the entire side of the room. The bed? It felt like sleeping on a cloud. The room also had a fully stocked mini bar for DIY cocktails, a spacious desk – perfect for catching up on work – and a giant TV for some downtime.
The bathroom was a highlight too, with a big tub, toilet, and a shower with the most incredible water pressure.

W Bangkok takes dining to the next level with its fantastic lineup of restaurants and bars. Here, you can discover places like :
- The Kitchen table – a beautiful restaurant that also offers a Tipsy Cow discovery set that we had the opportunity to try. The menu features American cooking techniques including slow-cooked, smoked, and grilled meat. We’ve tried some amazing BBQ smoked pork ribs, pulled pork pizza, brisket tacos, spaghetti and meatballs and a few other things. Everything was so delicious!
- Paii – one of the best seafood restaurants in Bangkok that also offer beautiful afternoon tea
- Nikaku – A Two Michelin Starred Japanese restaurant
- The Bar – beautiful bar located at the House of Sathorn
- The Pantry – a cafe with healthy options
- WooBar – a great place for cocktails
- W lounge – is a cool spot with a stylish vibe, perfect for sipping on crafted cocktails and soaking up a lively atmosphere
Breakfast
You can choose eggs cooked to your preference or choose a something from the menu. In addition you also have a buffet with Asian and International options
Celebrating Special Occasion:
I celebrated my birthday at the W, and I must commend the hotel for going above and beyond to make my day exceptionally special. The thoughtful gestures began with a delightful welcome cake waiting in my room, followed by a beautifully presented cupcake after my dinner. To my surprise, the indulgence continued with another cake during afternoon tea. What truly touched me was the unexpected recognition by the staff during a quick drink at the bar—they brought yet another cake! These sweet surprises made me feel incredibly special and added an extra layer of joy to my birthday celebration.
The final word
My stay at W Bangkok was nothing short of extraordinary – undeniably one of the nicest hotels I’ve ever experienced. The bed was a dream, so incredibly comfy that tearing myself away each morning was a real challenge. The staff, consistently helpful and genuinely nice, added an extra layer of warmth to the already inviting atmosphere. The hotel’s prime location, seamlessly connected to the rest of the city, made exploring Bangkok a breeze. Without a doubt, if I find myself in Bangkok again in the future, W Bangkok will be my top choice for a stay.
