You know that feeling when you step into a resort, and it just hits you—you’re officially on holiday? That was exactly my vibe walking into Meliá Bali. This beautiful resort in Nusa Dua welcomed me with a grand, stylish lobby, towering palm trees all around, and a refreshing welcome drink. It was the perfect start to what turned out to be an amazing stay.

Location
Meliá Bali is in Nusa Dua, one of the best areas to stay in Bali if you’re looking for a relaxing, upscale vibe. Located on the island’s southeast coast, this area is known for its beautiful beaches, high-end resorts, and peaceful atmosphere – perfect for anyone wanting to relax in a tropical paradise.
So, what is there to do in Nusa Dua? Plenty! Beyond relaxing at Meliá Bali, you can explore white sand beaches, go snorkelling or diving in crystal-clear waters, and visit the stunning Water Blow for a unique view of the ocean. If you’re in the mood to shop, the Bali Collection shopping centre is just around the corner and there’s also a fantastic golf course nearby for golf lovers.
Lagoon Access Junior Suite
At Meliá Bali, the rooms make you feel like you’re in a private tropical retreat. Each room offers either garden or lagoon views, so you’re always surrounded by greenery and calm water. The style blends Balinese touches with modern comfort, making it cosy and unique. Choose from Garden View Rooms, Junior Suites, Family Suites, Lagoon Access Suites, or the Garden Villa with a private pool. No matter where you stay, you’ll find comfy beds, free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, and eco-friendly bath products.
I stayed in the Lagoon Access Junior Suite, and it was next-level amazing. With 62 square metres of space, this suite had everything: a plush bed, a separate lounge area with a couch and table, and a spacious bathroom with both a shower and a tub. The best part? Direct access to the lagoon pool right from my room! This pool is shared with a few other rooms but feels much more private and relaxing than a typical resort pool – perfect for relaxing in peace.
Pool and a private beach at Melia Bali
Let’s talk about the pools and the private beach at Meliá Bali – because they’re honestly a slice of paradise. The main pool is this gorgeous, lagoon-style setup that winds through the resort, surrounded by tropical gardens. There’s so much space, and it’s calm and quiet, so you can actually unwind, swim, or just laze around without feeling packed in. It’s perfect for soaking up that Bali sunshine!
The private beach is just dreamy. Meliá Bali sits right on a beautiful, quiet stretch of sand with crystal-clear water. And because it’s only for resort guests, it feels like your own little escape—peaceful, exclusive, and absolutely relaxing. The sunbeds are super comfy, and the staff are always close by if you’re in the mood for a drink or a snack.
If you go for the Level all-inclusive package, there’s even more to love. Level guests get access to a private pool that’s tucked away just for them. It’s stunning and feels like a secret sanctuary away from the busier parts of the resort. Perfect for that extra bit of privacy and luxury – an ideal spot to relax
Level
If you’re looking for a true all-inclusive experience in Bali, Meliá Bali’s Level package is as good as it gets. It covers breakfast, lunch, and dinner at select restaurants, free drinks, 24-hour room service, afternoon tea, poolside snacks, and a stocked minibar. But it doesn’t stop at food—Level also includes fantastic activities like water sports, yoga classes, and free bicycle rentals. Plus, as a Level guest, you get access to a a private lounge and an exclusive pool, adding an extra touch of privacy and luxury to your stay.
Restaurants and Bars
The restaurants and bars at Melia each offer something unique, making it feel like you’re exploring a new part of Bali with every meal or drink. Here’s a taste of my favourites and some spots I’m eager to try next time.
Let’s start with Sateria Beachfront Restaurant. This place was an absolute favourite – right on the beach, so you can enjoy a delicious meal with the sound of waves in the background. Watching the ocean while having a relaxed lunch or dinner made the experience feel extra special.
Then, there’s Kopi Petani, a coffee shop with a cool, laid-back vibe that feels like a hidden gem. The decor is trendy, and the coffee is excellent—rich and full of flavour. It’s a perfect spot for a morning pick-me-up or an afternoon break.
Sakura Japanese Restaurant really impressed me too. They have an amazing selection, from sushi and gyoza to ramen and more, all made with fresh ingredients and beautiful presentation. Each dish was like a small piece of Japan in Bali, making it a must-visit if you’re a fan of Japanese food.
El Patio Restaurant was my go-to for breakfast. This market-style buffet has so many options with international flavours, so you can try something new each day. The lively setup and variety make it a great start to any day at the resort.
Each of the other spots brings something special to the table. Sorrento Mediterranean Restaurant offers a cosy atmosphere and delicious Mediterranean flavours, while Lotus Asian Restaurant is all about the vibrant tastes of Southeast Asia. For drinks, the Lobby Bar is a great starting point with its elegant feel, and the Lagoon Bar offers poolside drinks for a casual, tropical vibe. If you want a view, Mount Agung View Bar has stunning scenery, and the Tapas Bar, Taman Surya Bar, and The Lunch each add their own charm with unique settings and delicious options.
From the beach to the buffet to the bars, Meliá Bali’s dining spots give you a little bit of everything, each with a unique feel and a memorable experience.
Activities at Melia Bali
I’m pretty sure I’ve already convinced you to book Meliá Bali, but there’s even more to love! Beyond the amazing restaurants and beautiful pools, there’s so much to keep you busy and relaxed.
You can treat yourself to a day at the YHI Spa, where you’ll enjoy calming Balinese treatments that leave you totally refreshed. If you’re up for some activity, they’ve got water sports, yoga classes, and even Balinese dance lessons to try! There’s always something to do, so you’ll never feel bored.
And if you’re travelling with family, Meliá Bali is perfect for kids too. They have loads of fun workshops and activities at the Children’s Club, so everyone has their own way to enjoy the day.
Wrapping up, my stay at Meliá Bali was everything I hoped for. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed, surrounded by beautiful scenery, great food, and plenty of ways to relax and explore. Whether it was lounging by the lagoon pool, enjoying a spa day, or unwinding on the private beach, every day was its own little adventure.
If you’re planning a Bali trip either with family, friends or on your honeymoon and want a mix of luxury and Balinese charm, I can’t recommend Meliá Bali enough. And if you looking for what to do in Bali check out my full guide HERE
