One of the tallest hotels in the world, the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Hong Kong looks very impressive from the bottom. Located in the International Commerce Centre – the tallest building in Hong Kong – it’s arguably one of the world’s best hotels, and today I’m going to share my experience staying there.

Getting to the Ritz Carlton Hotel

Hail a taxi or hop on the train to Kowloon Station, which is at the Elements Mall that connects to The Ritz Carlton Hotel. We decided to take the train and it did take us a minute to work out how to reach the hotel lobby when we got off.

Once we reached the hotel, our bags were collected from where we entered on the ninth floor, so we could comfortably take the express elevator to the 103rd floor. I’m not a huge fan of elevators, so I’ll gloss over that part!

The hotel spans the 102nd to 118th floors of the building and you can find the check-in desk on the 103rd floor. We were welcomed with iced green tea by a very nice receptionist, as well as the manager. As a member of the Marriott group, we received a free drink at the bar and discount at the spa. Great perks to have!

Reviewing our room at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Hong Kong

Our room was on the 107th floor, which we took a different elevator to reach. It was a beautiful room! Everything felt very luxurious and modern. There was a huge, comfortable bed, a mini-bar with premium liqueur, a beautiful, spacious bathroom. The only disappointment was the view, thanks to the thick cloud and fog. If only you could book the weather too!

Expectation Vs. Reality

One of the benefits of the hotel is the indoor pool located on the top floor. You will also find a spa and gym there, which was one of the best-equipped gyms I’ve ever seen! The pool and hot tub were lovely and if the skies were clearer, the view would have been phenomenal. I’ll have to take their word for it!

Fine dining at the hotel

The hotel has three restaurants:

  • Tin Lung Heen Chinese restaurant with two Michelin stars
  • Tosca, a Michelin-starred Italian restaurant
  • Cafe 103, for signature Afternoon Tea

The restaurants would give you plenty of choice if you’re staying for a few days, with the best quality cuisine to enjoy. There’s also the Almas Caviar Bar, The Lounge & Bar and Ozone Bar – the world’s highest – to sample.

So, would I stay at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Hong Kong again? If I were a millionaire, probably. Otherwise, no. The hotel was twice as expensive as Marina Bay Sands, but that was much more fun in Singapore with that wonderful pool. Check out how I spent three days in Singapore for some insider travel tips.

There’s no denying that the Ritz Carlton is a luxury hotel. But I booked it for the view that the weather wreaked havoc with. That being said, I definitely don’t regret staying there. The experience was great overall, the staff were very friendly, the room was wonderful and the food and cocktails were delicious. You definitely get what you pay for, and I can see why this hotel is one of the best luxury hotels in the world.

  2. Wow! the 107th floor! That must have been such an epic experience with beautiful views! I once stayed on the 18th floor in the Shangri-la in Kowloon, and it’s been my best hotel experience ever!

  3. Ritz Carlton is always an amazing property to live and this one at Hong Kong looks perfect. It would be great to stay at 107th floor and have the wonderful view. As it is closer to Kowloon Station, which is at the Elements Mall, I would love to stay here when I visit Hong Kong.

  4. We are big fans of staying in Ritz-Carlton hotels. And were sad we did not at least visit the Ritz-Carlton in Hong Kong at least for the views. But now I am even sorrier that we did not book to stay there! I would have loved to spend time in the pool on the roof level. Afternoon Tea would also be a treat we would sign up for! So sad that the weather ruined the great views you were expecting.

  5. What a beautiful hotel! It’s unfortunate that the weather ruined your view but the rest of your stay looks like it was just lovely! Maybe one day I’ll be a millionaire! 🙂

  6. Oh my god! I would love to stay in a room that has that harbour view. Absolutely stunning. I will look for Ritz Carlton the next time I am in Hong Kong. I stayed near Kowloon Station last time I went there. The stay places near Kowloon Station were very small. So this definitely will be a good option.

  7. What an experience to stay on the 107th floor! The restaurants look really great, and I can’t even imagine the amazing views from your room without the fog. But, I expected to see more lux in the bedroom though. And the bathroom doesn’t look spacious either?

  8. Ritz Carlton seems luxury at its best. The view from the room is stunning. And being on the 107th floor must be feeling like being on top of the world. I love the varied food options.

  9. 107th floor… definitely an experience in itself! Luxury at its best. The view down below looks dreamy. I am sure its expensive but then its one of the best too. I would have loved to see more spacious rooms though but I am sure Hong Kong has its space constraints. It was good to do a virtual trip to a fancy hotel, especially when we have all been indoors for couple of months, now.
